Credits

Nestling builds on materials and ideas from the following projects and people. We are grateful to everyone who made their work openly available.

Plotting

The Nestling matplotlib style and the plotting track draw heavily from:

HowToMakeAPlot by Ciaran O'Hare : A guide to making publication-quality scientific figures with matplotlib. Repository: https://github.com/cajohare/HowToMakeAPlot

ArXiv & Journal Club

The ArXiv track and journal club materials are adapted from:

jc-ppi by Stephan Meighen-Berger : A repository for journal club paper presentations and ArXiv paper tooling. Repository: https://github.com/MeighenBergerS/jc-ppi

Writing

The writing track conventions, style rules, and the HEP writing skill file are based on collaborative work with:

John Beacom (Ohio State University) : Many of the stylistic choices and rules, from paragraph structure and voice to figure captions and OOM estimates, originate from or were refined through working closely with John Beacom on published research papers. His high standards for clarity and precision are directly reflected throughout the Writing Papers track and the examples/skill-files/writing-hep.md skill file.

Coding Practices & Documentation Style

The coding track conventions, docstring style, and documentation practices are primarily attributed to:

Ana Lastoviria (@chivoi) : The coding conventions and documentation style taught in Nestling, including NumPy docstring format, project layout, and testing discipline, were largely defined by Ana Lastoviria for the Prometheus project.

These conventions are reflected in the Prometheus codebase: https://github.com/Harvard-Neutrino/prometheus
